Frequently Asked Questions

What is it like working with you?

I specialize in holistic and proactive health care that is centered around you. We begin with a comprehensive 60-minute consultation where I gather your goals, history, and any relevant information. Following this, we may order labs from standard or specialty locations to pinpoint the underlying causes of your symptoms. Together, we will develop a strategic plan that addresses nutrition, stress, sleep, movement, genetics, and your environment, ensuring a thorough approach to your health.

Who do you work with?

I assist both women and men who are eager to control of their health. Many individuals approach me with chronic health diagnoses or persistent symptoms that have caused them frustration. The most frequently encountered conditions include weight issues, insulin resistance, high cholesterol, gut health concerns (such as IBS, SIBO, and food intolerances), hormonal imbalances (like irregular periods, PCOS PMS, and menopausal support without medication), non-pharmaceutical thyroid support, autoimmune diseases, and osteoporosis.

How can I start working with you?

If you're ready to set an appointment or eager to schedule a complimentary 15-minute discovery call, you can easily do so in the 'Book Now' section of our website. We highly encourage you to take advantage of this opportunity to learn more about our services see if we’re the perfect match to work!"

How should I prepare for my initial consultation?

Get ready for an exciting journey! Before your visit, you'll receive some paperwork to fill out. This will cover essential details like your goals, past medical history, medications, supplements, and any challenges you've encountered. Take your time with this—it's a fantastic opportunity to reflect on what you truly want to!

Can you order blood work?

Yes, having a license in Nutrition in the state of Florida does allow me to order labs.

Can you prescribe medications?

No. Without a license to support ordering medications, I cannot order them. This would not be my first route for treatment anyway, as I work with non-pharmaceutical options to address health. This does not  mean I will not work with you if you take medications. I believe in an Integrative approach which supports both natural, and pharmaceutical options when needed.

Do you accept health insurance?

In the past, I attempted to work within an insurance model, but it didn't provide the necessary time to genuinely listen to and address clients' concerns. The 10-15 minute sessions are simply not sufficient for offering the support people need when they come to see me. However, I can provide you with coding to submit your bill to insurance for possible reimbursement.

Do I still need a Primary Care Doctor if I see you?

Yes, you should still keep your primary care doctor and specialists on your health team. Each role serves a purpose.

Unfortunately,  unlike 26 jurisdictions (23 states plus the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and the U.S. Virgin Islands) Florida does not currently offer licensing or registration laws for naturopathic doctors (NDs/NMDs). I do maintain my active Naturopathic Physician license in the state of Connecticut. I am the former Vice President for the Florida Naturopathic Physicians Association, we are working to obtain a license so consumers can recognize an accredited Naturopathic Doctor, and receive the care we are trained to provide. In the meantime, I completed my Certified Nutrition Specialist certification and have a license in Nutrition through the state of Florida. This is the license in which I work under until Florida passes a Naturopathic licensure bill.
